“Thomas stated to him, “Lord, we don’t recognize in which you’re going, so how are we able to recognize the way?” Jesus replied, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you simply recognize me, you may know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and seen him.” Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and in order to be enough for us.” Jesus replied: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I was amongst you the sort of long time? Anyone who has known me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Don’t you trust that I am inside the Father, and that the Father is in me? The word I say to you I do not communicate on my own authority. Rather, it’s far the Father, residing in me, who’s doing his work.” John 14:5-10
Meaning of “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life”
John 14:6 – Jesus stated to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
I am the way
Our Lord takes the possibility of this discourse about the area he was going to, and the way unto it, more completely to train his disciples concerning himself, pronouncing, “I am the way”; Christ isn’t always merely the way, as he is going earlier than his people for example; or simply as a prophet, stating unto them with the doctrine the way of salvation; but he’s the way of salvation itself via his obedience and sacrifice; nor is there some other; he’s the way of his Father’s appointing, and that is absolutely agreeable to the perfections of God, and about to the case and circumstance of sinners; he is the way to all the blessings of the covenant of grace, and he’s the right way to a Gospel church kingdom here; no one comes rightly to a church of Christ however by faith in him; and he’s the way to heaven: he’s entered into it himself by way of his own blood, and has opened the way to it through himself for his people.

He isn’t just only the truth, but truth itself: this will regard his people and man or woman; he’s the real God, and everlasting life; truly and without a doubt a man; as a prophet, he taught the way of God in truth; as a priest, he is a devoted, in addition to a merciful one, real and faithful to him that appointed him; and as a King, simply and real are all his ways and administrations: he’s the sum and substance of all of the truths of the Gospel; they are all complete of him, and center in him; and he’s the truth of all the sorts and shadows, promises and prophecies of the Old Testament; they’ve all their accomplishment in him; and he’s the genuine way, in against to all fake ones of man’s devising. And this word appears to be against a perception of the Jews, that the regulation was the right way of life, and who restrained truth to the law. They have a pronouncing, that, “Moses and his laws are the truth”; this they make Korah and his business say in hell. That the law of Moses was the truth, is certain; but it is too strong an expression to say of Moses himself, that he was the truth; but well is of the same opinion with Christ, by whom grace and truth got here in opposition to Moses, via whom got here the law: however when they are saying, “there’s no truth but the law”, they do not communicate the truth. More honestly do talk, when, in answer to that question, “what is reality?” it’s far stated, that he is the living God, and King of the world, characters that well agree with Christ.
And the life:
Christ is the author and giver of life, natural, spiritual, and everlasting; or he’s the way of life, or “the dwelling way”; in opposition to the law, which was thus far from being the way of life, that it was the ministration of condemnation and death: he always, and ever will be the way; all in this way live, none ever die, and it’s far a way that results in eternal life: and to conclude all the epithets in one sentence, Christ is the authentic way to eternal life. It is added by way of rationalization of him, as the way.

Bible Commentary of “The Way, The Truth, The Life”
Matthew Henry made the subsequent observation about the Bible chapter of John 14:
Thomas enquired regarding the way (v. 5), without any apology for contradicting his Master. He said, “Lord, we recognize not whither thou goest, to what place or what state, and the way are we able to recognize the way in which we must comply with thee? We can neither bet at it, nor enquire it out, however ought to nevertheless be at a loss.’’ Christ’s testimony regarding their expertise made them more realistic in their lack of fact and more inquisitive after similarly mild. Thomas here shows more modest than Peter, who concept he may want to follow Christ now. Peter was the more solicitous to recognize whither Christ went. Thomas here, even though he complains that he did not recognize this, but appears more solicitous to understand the way.
His confession of his lack of knowledge was commendable sufficient. If exact men are in the darkish, and realize but in component, but they’re willing to personal their defects. But, (2.) The cause of his lack of expertise was culpable. They knew not whither Christ went, due to the fact they dreamed of a temporal kingdom in outside pomp and power, and doted upon this, however what he had said again and again to the contrary. Hence it was that, while Christ referred to going away and that they’re following him, their fancy ran upon his going to some incredible town or other, Bethlehem, or Nazareth, or Capernaum, or a number of the cities of the Gentiles, as David to Hebron, there to be anointed king, and to restore the dominion to Israel; and which way this place lay, in which those castles in the air had been to be built, east, west, north, or south, they couldn’t tell, and consequently knew not the way. Thus still we suppose ourselves more in the darkish than we need to be concerning the future state of the church, because we assume its worldly prosperity, while it’s miles non secular advancement that the promise factors at. Had Thomas understood, as he would possibly have carried out, that Christ was going to the invisible world, the world of spirits, to which spiritual things only have a reference, he would not have stated, Lord, we do not know the way.
Now to this complaint in their lack of knowledge, which protected a preference to learn, Christ gives a full solution, v. 6, v. 7. Thomas had enquired each whither he went and what was the way, and Christ answers both these questions and makes exact what he had stated, that they might have needed no solution in the event that they had understood themselves aright; for they knew him, and he was the way; they knew the Father, and he was the end; and therefore, whither I cross , and the way you know. Believe in God as to the end, and in me because the way (v. 1), and you do all you should do. He speaks of himself as the way, v. 6. Dost thou not recognize the way? I am the way, and I best, for no man involves the Father but with me. Great matters Christ here saith of himself, showing us, The nature of his mediation: He is the way, the truth, and the life.

“So Jesus said to the Twelve, “Do you need to go away as well?” Simon Peter responded him, “Lord, to whom we could go? You have the world of everlasting life, and we’ve got believed, and have come to recognize, which you are the Holy One of God.” Jesus spoke back then, “Did I not choose you, the Twelve? And yet one of you is a satan.” He talked about Judas the son of Simon Iscariot, for he, one of the Twelve, was going to betray him.” John 6:67-71
“For God so love the world, that he gave his only one begotten Son, that whoever believes in him have not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not is condemned already, due to the fact he has not believed in the name of the Son of God. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and those loved the darkness in preference to the light due to the fact their works were evil.” John 3:16-19

The Word Became Flesh
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things had been made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. There was a person sent from God whose name was John. He got here as a witness to testify regarding that light, in order that through him all may accept as true. He himself was not the light; he got here as a witness to the light. The genuine light that offers light to every body was getting into the world. He was in the world, and although the world was made via him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not get hold of him. Yet to all who did get hold of him, to people who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, however born of God. The Word became flesh and made his living amongst us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the only and most effective Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and fact. (John testified concerning him. He cried out, announcing, “This is the one I spoke about after I said, ‘He who comes after me has handed me because he was before me.’ ”) Out of his fullness we’ve all obtained grace in place of grace already given. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came via Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God, but the one and Son, who’s himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him recognized.” John 1:1-18
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.” John 14:1

What Did Jesus Mean with “The Way, the Truth, and the Life” in John 14?
Jaye Martin offers her clarification as to what Jesus intended when He described Himself as “the way, the truth, and the life”:
In John 14:6, Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one come to the Father except through me.” That’s a completely hard passage because such a lot of people see that we must not be open if we do not accept these types of those who come to God in other ways. But it is very clear here, Jesus says, and we need to go through Christ to get to God. And so, we see that he was truth. And from time to time it’s tough to talk the truth due to the fact there’s something that we want to gloss over. I might say for each people, we want to mention, am I speaking fact, am I residing out with integrity what I recognize to be genuine? Because I trust if I actually lived out truth every day, other people could see that. And occasionally it’s hard to give an explanation for it to people, however I think once they ask us, we want to mention, Jesus says he is the most only way. And it really is great news because all they should do is say, okay, open my eyes, Lord. And I need to see that. And that’s the truth of the gospel.
